Project Leadership Mentoring/Coaching

Project managers can always benefit from unbiased, high-level support that’s customized
to help them master challenging projects. That’s why we offer our expertise in one-on-one
mentoring and coaching sessions. Our executive-level project managers deliver the
real-life, in-the-trenches experience to fully address day-to-day project management
needs.
Who Should Attend?
No matter how experienced, every project manager benefits from an objective, experienced
project manager – someone seasoned, who’s “been there done that” – someone who can
help them see through fresh eyes with new perspectives, ideas, strategies and techniques.
Your PMs won’t ask for this level of help, but they’ll certainly benefit and enjoy
it. We recommend this service for any project manager heading up a critical project
that can’t afford to run off track or over budget.
What Can You Expect?
- Preventative maintenance (ongoing project manager coaching and mentoring provides
multiple chances each month to prevent your projects from going off track)
- Project managers who have clarity about their current situation and its implications
- Swift, well-reasoned project management decisions
- Quick-hit, real-time solutions and action plans to get the project unstuck from
key obstacles and back on the right path
- Improved business-focused communications from your project managers
- Confidential session notes for the project managers
- On a quarterly basis, executives will receive a documented briefing which summarizes
the common findings, trends, and issues we observed across all the projects and
project managers we worked with, coupled with a gap analysis and recommendations
to close the gaps.
Project Check-in & Assessments
Each check-in and assessment provides an external, objective, experienced, structured
review of the project to ensure the project manager has lined up all the elements
required for success. These fast and focused reviews probe the job, leadership skills
and effectiveness of people in key project positions. They assess the project manager’s
knowledge & control of the project, and uncover real or potential risks and
threats to the project’s success. The result is a project manager who is well-positioned
to keep the project on track, or has identified realistic, corrective action to
get it back on track.
Who Should Attend?
Any project manager and team leader responsible for the successful completion of
medium-to-large projects. These are most effective at two points within the project
lifecycle: at Start-Up (2-4 weeks into the project) and again at Mid-Point (a check-in
point, usually 1/3 to 1/2 way into the project’s schedule).
What Can You Expect?
- Project managers who know what they need to do to ensure their project’s success
- A timely, objective, 3rd party confirmation or warning to the project manager, Sponsor
and/or Advisors as to how well the project is progressing that includes:
- A gap analysis, with a recommended plan of action to close gaps
- If the check-in occurs at start-up, you will receive an assessment rating as to
the likelihood the project will be delivered on time and in budget.
- If the check-in occurs at a mid-point, you will receive an estimated projection
of project’s remaining time, staffing & budget, given its current state
- A chance to turn things around, if needed, to achieve targeted business goals and
objectives
- If the project is off track or headed that way, this is a decision point to either
accept the delays, drop the project, or develop new strategies and plans to get
the project on a new best-path to success
